Safety Management Systems

There are ever increasing legislative requirements on process operators to have an effective safety management system in place. Safety management is the elimination or control of hazards to reduce the risk of injury to people, damage to plant and equipment and damage to the environment.

A company's safety management system is the means by which it achieves the above and it has been defined (by the UK's IChemE) as "how a company organises itself, manages safety, integrates with external organisations and continuously improves its safety performance".

Good health and safety management, like good human resource management generally, is something to which many organisations aspire. It is also something which the law requires ever more rigorously.

At Burgoyne Consultants our team of highly qualified consultants specialise in all aspects of safety management and loss prevention. We can provide independent and impartial advice and training in health and safety related practices. This will ultimately improve the performance of your organisation and its employees.
