Operations in this industry involve the handling and storage of hazardous materials. Most of the aerosol propellants currently in use are flammable and held within a pressurised container creating potential fire and explosion hazards.
To ensure the safety of process operations the potential hazards need to be clearly understood. Suitable control measures to minimise risk can be built in to plant design and operating procedures.
Aerosol manufacturing operations represent a significant challenge. Suitable and sufficient controls are needed to minimise the risk of serious incident. Risks are not only confined to filling of the aerosol, but to the placement of actuators and caps, palletising, shrink wrapping and warehousing.
